Why I built Kohabit
My name is Benjamin Desmarez. I have been a co-owner and a volunteer board member in my own building since 2021.
When I joined the condo, I could not find the bylaws. The revised shares were sitting in the former treasurer's email. And there was no way to dig up past quotes, or the contractors who had already been in.
I built Kohabit because I kept seeing volunteer boards around me doing their best, without tools built for what they actually deal with.
What I decided to do differently
Your co-owners do not need an account.
They get the notices and vote from their email. Because the person you have to talk into signing up is often exactly the one you need for quorum.
One price, on the page, capped.
$2.99 per door per month, never more than $79. Because a board should be able to vote a budget knowing the number, not after asking for a quote.
Your data stays in Canada.
Because a Quebec condo board should not have to wonder if a Texas judge can read its minutes. The details are here.
