Every board announcement, straight to your inbox
Every time the board publishes an announcement in Kohabit, you receive it by email at the address the board recorded for your unit. No action needed: no signup, no app to install, no password to remember.
Urgent ones are marked urgent, and any email you receive lets you change how often you hear from the board: everything, or urgent only.

Hydro-Québec is working on the main line this Tuesday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The water will be off in the whole building during that time.

Voting
Vote from the email, with no account
When a ballot opens, Kohabit emails you the question, the deadline, and one button per answer: yes, no or abstain, or each of the options on the ballot. You click yours, a page in your name opens, you confirm, and your vote is counted. For a multiple-choice vote, you tick your options there, still with no account.
The confirmation is there for a reason: some email filters open links before you do. They should not get to vote for you.
Your vote is automatically weighted by your share, as required by the Civil Code of Québec. A page confirms that your vote is recorded, and you can change it while the ballot is open.
Kohabit prevents duplicate votes and keeps a verifiable time-stamped trail.
Discussions
Reply to a discussion like any other email
If an announcement opens a discussion or if a co-owner asks a question, you receive the messages by email. To reply, just hit Reply in your email program.
Your reply is automatically posted in the discussion thread in Kohabit, and emailed to other participants. Same behaviour as a mailing list, just better: everything is archived, traceable and retrievable even if you change email addresses later.

The minutes from the May 18 meeting are attached.
The board has been through them and approved them. If something does not match what you remember, reply to this email: you have 30 days to ask for a correction.

Documents
Receive official documents directly as attachments
Minutes, declaration of co-ownership, contracts, important invoices, technical reports: when the board attaches a document to an announcement, it arrives attached to the email, just like any other correspondence.
Archive, forward, print, exactly as you would with a regular email. No need to log in to download anything.
If one day you want an account
Email is enough to stay informed, to vote and to reply. An account adds four things.

- ✓ The idea box: put a subject to the board, and see what your neighbours are putting forward.

Voting on a multi-choice ballot needs no account: the personal link in the email opens the full ballot in your browser.
The votes, announcements and discussions you received by email attach to your account the day you create it.
Your board has not heard of Kohabit yet
You have read this page, your board has not. Create your co-owner account, give the name and email of whoever runs the building, and Kohabit writes to them on your behalf, with what they need in order to decide. The moment they create the condo's space, you are attached to it as a co-owner.
